In a formal atmosphere of the ceremony, Ms. Pham Thi Van Anh, Director General of the Organization and Personnel Department announced the Decision of the Minister of Science and Technology on the transfer and appointment of Mr. Luu Hoang Long, President of Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park Management Board to the position of Director General of IP Viet Nam as of August 1st, 2023.

At the event, the Minister of Science and Technology congratulated Mr. Luu Hoang Long on having been entrusted and assigned the responsibility by the Party Civil Affairs Committee, leaders of Ministry of Science and Technology. Mr. Luu Hoang Long, according to the Minister, is well-trained and experienced over various positions he has held. As the lead of the Ministry, the Minister urged Mr. Luu Hoang Long to promote the spirit of solidarity, rigorously execute the democracy, publicity and transparency regime, and create consensus in all activities of IP Viet Nam in the coming time.

The Minister added that currently the draft Decree guiding the implementation of the (amended and supplemented) IP Law has been finalized and already submitted to the Government for consideration and promulgation. Along with the National IP Strategy until 2030, the legislative framework on IP has basically been reviewed, amended and supplemented. However, according to the Minister, aside from outstanding achievements that have made significant contributions to the field of science and technology in particular and the socio-economic development in general, there are still three "blockages" that IP Viet Nam must resolve with determination and concentration, namely IP application handling; IT infrastructure development; IPRs exploitation.

Speaking at the ceremony, Director General Luu Hoang Long has extended his sincere appreciation to the Minister, leaders of Ministry of Science and Technology for having entrusted and appointed him to the highly responsible post. At the same time, Mr. Luu Hoang Long has showed his determination together with IP Viet Nam officials and employees to well fulfill tasks assigned by the Ministry leaders.
