Commemorating the World Intellectual Property Day 2024
On April 26th, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) of Ha Noi coordinated with the Intellectual Property Office of Viet Nam (IP Viet Nam) (Ministry of Science and Technology), The University of Transport and Communications (UTC) to organize various activities to commemorate the World Intellectual Property Day (April 26th) with the theme "Intellectual property and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Building our common future with innovation and creativity".

Overview of the event
Science and technology have been making contributions to the majority of the world's sustainable development goals, including the elimination of hunger and the reduction of poverty, the enhancement of food security and nutrition, the development of agriculture, and the promotion of access and utilization of energy sources in an efficient manner... Science and technology in general, intellectual property and innovation in particular, have an increasingly remarkable impact on tasks and solutions to achieve United Nations’ SDGs.
Distinguished guests of the event
This event consists of a range of activities commemorating the World Intellectual Property Day with the aim of bringing the concept of intellectual property closer to the public of the Capital. The main focus is to promote and increase awareness about the importance of intellectual property rights in fostering innovation and enhancing the position, reputation, and competitiveness of products resulting from innovative activities in the context of international integration.

At the event, IP Viet Nam’s Deputy Director General Mr. Le Huy Anh stated that with creative ideas being realized, the creative industry has been creating many new jobs and opportunities for learning and development for young people. Technological and scientific advancements are having a profound impact on the socio-economic life of people all around the world. As an emerging nation, there have been many transformations in Viet Nam that are based on innovation, science and technology, encouraging green growth and sustainable development. "Not sacrificing the environment in exchange for the economy" is one of the orientations of sustainable development defined by our Party and State.

IP Viet Nam’s Deputy Director General Mr. Le Huy Anh emphasized that the message of "Intellectual property and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Building our common future with innovation and creativity" of the World Intellectual Property Day 2024 is an opportunity to further encourage and promote innovation and intellectual property to improve lives, ensure clean water sources, food security, and develop renewable energy to protect environment, reducing emissions towards sustainable transportation, etc.
